Hunter Searson

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Hunter Searson is a senior, undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems at the University of Central Florida. Hunter has been a member of Citizen Science GIS since February 2019, originally joining as a member of the eelgrass team. Since then, he has continued as student leader on the eelgrass team, has student authored and co-authored multiple papers, worked on the Maps, Apps, & Drones Tour, performed data analysis on products collected by our NSF REU team in Hopkins Village, Belize, and assisted with the Orange County utilities project organization. His research interests are strongly tied to analyzing environmental ecosystems through GIS analysis.
