UCF Students: Research Internship Apps Due February 5: Work with Citizen Science GIS at UCF

UCF Students! Want to be part of an international award winning research team at UCF? Better yet, while getting paid and/or earning academic credit? Now is your chance to intern with us to help share our story. The story of Citizen Science GIS. The story of people coming together through maps, apps, and drones to understand society’s most pressing social and environmental challenges. We are seeking three interns in areas of web/graphic design, social media marketing, and video production. Please see descriptions below for more information. Applications are due on February 5, 2018. Please note these positions are separate from our NSF REU Site research positions.Position 1: Web/graphic design research internship with Citizen Science GIS at UCFCitizen Science GIS, an international award winning organization at the University of Central Florida in the Department of Sociology and College of Sciences GIS Research Cluster, is looking for a web/graphic design intern to assist with a complete redesign of our website and to assist with the creation of a web mapping platform for our open data. Skills required: a commitment to team work, punctuality, web design and Wordpress experience. Knowledge of ArcGIS Online and Github preferred, though not required.In addition to the standard UCF undergraduate hourly rate, the position may be eligible for UCF academic internship credit. Skills required: a commitment to team work, punctuality, and experience with marketing and communications focused on social media. Knowledge of wordpress preferred though not required. Position will begin as unpaid but will develop into a paid position Soon after it is determined that the student has the skills necessary for the tasks and has interests in working as part of an interdisciplinary team.In addition to the standard UCF undergraduate hourly rate, the position may be eligible for UCF academic internship credit.
