Happy Thursday everyone! I hope everyone is staying safe.

For this week’s activity, we are going to be working on a Florida Scavenger Hunt!

We have instructions for using multiple platforms to provide you with many options for how to do this activity. This activity can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how you utilize and personalize this activity. There are three ways outlined that will give options for doing this activity.

Alternatively, you may also access the full PowerPoint presentation here

  • Option 1 (around 30 minutes to 1 hour): Use pens, pencils, paint, or crayons to color drawings and make your own images for the boxes. Supplies needed: writing utensil or paint, printer, printer paper, printer ink.
  • Option 2 (around 30 minutes to 1 hour): Use paint, or clip art, on your computer to put in images that correspond to the location that is asked to represent based on the coordinates. This option is also great because it is a zero-waste activity and requires only your computer.
  • Option 3 (1 hour to 2 hours): Use old magazines or books, or look up images, print and cut them out, to look for images that represent the area that is being shown from the coordinates, and glue or tape them onto the paper. This activity can be an arts and crafts activity as well! Supplies needed: old magazines or books or printer, paper, ink, and glue or tape.

Everyone here at Citizen Science GIS is wishing you and your family good health and peace during this time of uncertainty. Although we are stuck at home, we encourage you all to never stop exploring!
