Kate Brandt, BA/BS, is a doctoral student in the Department of Geography and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before beginning her graduate studies at UNC in 2018, Kate graduated from Rutgers University with degrees in Geography and Environmental Planning and Design. Her involvement with Citizen Science GIS began in 2017 when she was chosen to participate in the NSF REU in Hopkins, Belize. She continued involvement with the team as a staff member in 2018 and continued working with the Hopkins community to understand flooding in the village. Currently, her research interests are in health and population geography human-environment interactions.
