Tori-Gaye is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida. She is majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in Urban and Regional Planning, as well as a certificate in Geographic Information Systems. She has been a Teaching Assistant for Geographic Information Systems for Environmental Studies majors for a little over a year now. She aspires to have a career in planning geared towards incorporating green infrastructure into urban spaces. In her free time, she enjoys reading Fantasy novels, watching various shows on Netflix and spending time with her loved ones. After learning about coastal ecosystems and communities in past courses, she believes it is imperative to understand the dynamics of the coastal environmental as it is important for people's livelihoods, the local economy, the protection of environmental integrity, and the identity of coastal communities. She believes that when it comes to planning and environmental issues, it is important to engage community members in order to facilitate education, cooperation, involvement, and trust.
